Senior Finance and Accounting Manager

Our Chicago clients include Walgreens', US Foods, Kraft Heinz, Sara Lee, Mondelez International, Exelon, Arthur J. Gallagher, Career Education Corporation, Deutsche Bank, Hyatt Hotels Corporation and a multitude of venture capital firms, hedge funds and private equity firms.

Our Consultants have a either an FP&A background, a CPA background or a blend of both. As a DLC Consultant, you will provide solutions across a wide variety of industries, companies, and functional disciplines.

On a Daily Basis, you will work directly with finance and operating executives at the Clients we serve.

SENIOR FINANCE & ACCOUNTING MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare opening balance sheets and purchase accounting journal entries
  • Shared services migration, creation of SOP's, ensuring knowledge transfer / transition of work is seamless
  • Implement Adaptive Insights for FP&A budget tool and management reporting
  • Execute monthly financial close and reconciliations
  • Compile financial reports, query data and investigate variances
  • Perform financial statement analysis
  • Support company's external reporting filings by preparing footnotes and MD&A
  • Provide support with lease accounting
  • Prepare company for audits
  • Document memos and processes

SENIOR FINANCE & ACCOUNTING MANAGER CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
  • Have excellent client service demeanor
  • Ability to work with variety of personalities, focus on getting job done
  • Comfortable walking into a changing, dynamic environment
  • Great communication skills - will be interacting with multiple business and accounting stakeholders / team members to capture process and workflow, understand variances, root cause analysis discussions, etc.
  • Self starter - Have keen understanding of how to roll up sleeves and add value / contribution very quickly.
  • Problem Solving: ability to develop and implement new ideas to improve processes

SENIOR FINANCE & ACCOUNTING MANAGER EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university
  • CPA preferred
  • MBA from Top 25 MBA program
  • 6+ years of accounting experience, preferably with a mix of Big 4 accounting firm experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel - v-lookups, pivot tables, formulas
  • Hands on experience in GL and reporting systems such as Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, Workday, NetSuite, Hyperion preferred
