The primary responsibilities of a Becker CPA faculty member are to competently and professionally instruct, mentor and assist Becker Professional Education students to successfully pass the Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) examination.
This position would report to the Lead Faculty and the Regional Faculty Manager in their region.
Delivery of the Becker Professional Education course content
- Preview and adequately prepare to competently present materials and topics applicable to the classsubject matter.
- Project confidence, competency and professionalism with an engaging personality.
- Offer students examples or explanations of subject matter presented.
- Review class problems and solutions with students.
- Knowledgeably respond to student questions and concerns.
- Properly pace the class to start and end on time without rushing or not appropriately delivering the Becker Professional Education course materials.
Participation and Successful Completion of Faculty Training Programs
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings/instructor training sessions with the Lead Faculty or Regional Faculty Manager as scheduled.
- Training shall include, but is not limited to: proper teaching techniques; understanding the Becker tools and materials; guidance on presenting the course utilizing the Becker methodology and other information necessary to delivering the courses and fielding student questions
- Stay current and knowledgeable of policy or exam updates that are disseminated by Becker Professional Education to faculty.
Assist with Becker Professional Education marketing.
- Be willing to assist the Regional Manager and Account Manager with campus speeches, attending banquets, professional meetings, and campus presentations or conferences when able to do so.
- The qualified individual has an applicable license, certification, educational or experiential background in the area of expertise the candidate is expected to instruct.
- In some venues, educational requirements include but are not limited to possessing a Master's, PhD or JD degree from an accredited university with the required number of upper level graduate hours (18) in the area of instruction.
- Experience as a former Becker student and/or instructor is preferred but not necessary. The successful candidate will have some previous teaching or public speaking experience, be capable of professionally instructing classes using the Becker Professional Education methodology, honoring time, training and preparation commitments and, be willing and able to assist Becker Professional Education students to succeed in passing examinations.
- The ideal candidate will have an engaging, positive personality that students will respect and enjoy. They should portray confidence and caring while possessing the ability to publicly speak well and connect with students.
