The Junior Engineer will be part of an agile development team building enterprise grade systems inside AWS and Azure. In this crucial role, you will assist with the design, development, testing and support of the Bank's automated systems inside the Cloud and our orchestration tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in automation system releases and roll-outs, and communicate to the end users about status and project conditions
  • Collaborate with Bank staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes
  • Perform automation system improvements and upgrades
  • Perform code deployments and releases
  • Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting
  • Test fixes to ensure problems have been adequately resolved
  • Collaborate directly with different areas of IT and the business in order to provide solutions for the Bank
  • Build rapport and elicit problem details from customers
  • Work with team to provide timely reports on the status of projects as well as any unforeseen issues to management and to business units
  • Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and FAQ resources on the Internet/Intranet to aid in problem resolution
  • Adhere to established policies, standards and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the Bank systems and data
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering
  • 6 months equivalent work experience with AWS
  • Certification in AWS a plus
  • Experience in Control-M a plus
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
  • Knowledge of cross functional team models
  • Experience with best practices in IT troubleshooting principles and techniques and willingness to apply them

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Behaviors:

  • Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, Control-M, Python and PIP a plus.
  • Preferred working knowledge of Git, Web services (SOAP and REST)
  • Familiarity with identity and access management tools, Ansible, Octopus are a plus
  • Experience with common application platforms, development tools and best practices
  • Working knowledge of basic software design patterns
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL
  • Experience writing SQL queries
  • Dynamic communication skills with a focus on building relationships by listening and constructively questioning
  • Ability to solve problems and think analytically
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Keen attention to detail

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
