* Casual dress code The Federal Home Loan Bank's Mortgage Partnership Finance (MPF) program promotes access to the secondary residential mortgage market for small and mid-sized financial institutions. The Mortgage Policy and Legal Compliance Department is looking for a motivated individual to provide support for residential mortgage policy development.
The individual will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and advising on the Bank's mortgage program policies, and will provide legal compliance support by tracking mortgage industry and legal developments, reviewing legal agreements. In addition, this role will work closely with other members in the department, as well as members of the various mortgage departments, including product management, operations, servicing, risk management, quality control, training, account management, service center as necessary to support the mortgage program. Preferred candidate will have strong residential mortgage or other consumer finance experience focused on guideline drafting, compliance or legal support.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Knowledge of residential mortgage related laws and regulations
- Knowledge of residential mortgage business, including industry practices
- Knowledge of residential loan origination, underwriting, and loan servicing. Specific knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and government insured/guaranteed loans guidelines a plus
- Experience reviewing and summarizing mortgage related regulations
- Excellent analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Technical writing skills are a plus
- Excellent client management, diplomacy and people skills
- Strong commitment to client service
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to use good business acumen and judgment
- Ability to multitask while meeting deadlines
Specifications
- Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of residential mortgage related experience, preferably in a guideline drafting, legal compliance or underwriting/servicing/QC position.
