Building Maintenance Technician

General Job Description:

Weigel Broadcasting is a multi-platform media company with a remarkably creative, loyal and entrepreneurial team. Weigel Broadcasting Co. has an immediate opening for a Building Maintenance Technician. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced, growing company!

Duties/Responsibilities:

Answer and respond to all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing-related calls from customers, contractors, and management.

Perform preventative maintenance work on building electrical, mechanical, and plumbing equipment supporting the building office space.

Address and correct issues promptly, and properly escalate any on-going or severe issues to the Chief Engineer.

Record all maintenance tasks via the appropriate system, resolve tickets in the system when work is complete.

Escort and work effectively with outside contractors, ensure they are abiding by critical facility work rules.

Adhere to all federal, state, and local safety laws.

Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for job, if not currently employed by Weigel Broadcasting Co.

High school degree or GED, preferred

Two years working experience in building/facility maintenance.

Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and carpentry, required.

On-call work may be required.

Electrical or mechanical knowledge is preferred.

Basic understanding of relays and GPIO systems, as well as the other line of low voltage experience.

Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 100 lbs.

Able to work proficiently and safely with hand tools and power tools, required

Has strong customer service skills, able to work with all a range of personalities and individuals, required

Able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and volunteer readily when asked, required
