Senior Financial Analyst, ISC

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the Sr. Manager, ISC Finance with all relevant cost, forecast, and analytics required to make decisions for McCain North America business. This role will support and interact primarily with McCain's Procurement and Agriculture organizations.

The Senior Financial Analyst will have strong financial analysis and cost accounting skills. The Sr. Financial Analyst will have responsibility for assembling P&L and Balance Sheet forecast data, performing financial analysis and providing sufficient periodic financial information to support the planning and decision-making processes that ensure profitability and sustainability of McCain Foods. This position will have regular interaction with other personnel in the Procurement and Agricultural departments, as well as Plant operational accounting groups.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage SCA tracking, vetting, and reporting monthly with Procurement and Agriculture work streams.
  • Develop and maintain forecasting model to support planning and analyze weekly/monthly/quarterly vs. appropriate benchmarks, make value-added recommendations, and prepare ad hoc analyses as requested in order to facilitate the formation of sound business plans and strategies.
  • Creates/implements/performs various financial analyses including, but not limited to: investment analysis, cost savings, PPV forecasting, Balance Sheet forecasting, rolling 18 month forecasting of both P&L and Balance sheet, variance analysis, and trends and drivers of monthly performance.
  • Stays current on Procurement and Agriculture work stream projects and efforts by attending and participating with weekly touch-point meetings.
  • Suggest opportunities for continually improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial process.
  • Analyze and evaluate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results in order to provide full understanding of such results. Assist in identifying opportunities and risks associated with such results and compare results to relative benchmarks.
  • Challenge, pushback on the acceptance of status quo, and enlist a continuous improvement mantra for the organization.
  • Works collaboratively with others and institutes best practices in responsibilities and shares among team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of Accounting, Finance, and/or a minimum 5+ years experience in financial analysis supporting Procurement or Agricultural, financial planning, or Cost accounting.
  • Strong technology skills including Microsoft Office. Prior experience working with relational databases and report writers desirable.
  • MBA and/or accounting designation preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience working with tight deadlines and demonstrated responsibility for accuracy and timeliness for work performed.
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be able to convey information to all levels of the organization in a clear, focused, and concise manner.
  • Experience with Procurement, Agriculture or other food manufacturing companies strongly preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to manage responsibilities proactively and willingness to ask questions and dig for information as well as being able to assimilate and report to the organization.
