Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:The Sr. Maintenance Mechanic performs all types of maintenance work in the plant which is required to keep the plant running at a maximum efficiency. This includes but is not limited to, set up, adjust, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implements 5-S on line. Trouble shoot equipment, problem solve, and eliminate scrap and waste. Record all maintenance issues in maintenance log for each line.
  • Change over equipment to new sizes, verify results after change over.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance. Make preventive maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment. Change oils and belts. Reports problems to Shift Manager and take appropriate action.Analyze mechanical and operational problems, make necessary corrections and run adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Test equipment to verify correct operation and production. Analyze and record cause of production delays on daily production reports and initiate procedures to solve equipment malfunctions. Examine defects and analyze spoilage causes and, where possible, take corrective action and verify the corrective action has eliminated the problems.
  • Identifies and sources parts, supplies, and repair items as necessary. Performs evaluations of alternatives to improve cost and/or reliability of equipment.
  • Provides assistance to lower-level technicians and leadership to project teams. Performs expert functions as a part of training and development.
  • Responsible to immediately lockout any equipment deemed or suspected of being unsafe.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment while following lock-out/tag-out procedures.


Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • At least three years maintenance/mechanical experience.

ADDITIONAL:

  • Experience with pneumatic systems and understant 3 phase ciecuits, low voltage control and instrumentation.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds of weight.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be willing to learn new equipment as it is brought on-line.
  • Must furnish own necessary hand tools.
  • Willing to wear a full-face respirator and able to work in hot and humid environments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Welding Calibration experience. VFD & PLC knowledge.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:

  • Trade School or Maintenance Certificate.
