SAP Basis & Security Lead

In this role you'll be leading the SAP Basis and DBA Support function providing 'on call' support, managing the outsourced vendor by monitoring SLA/CSAT scores, escalations of incidents and adherence to ITIL processes

About the role

This role will be spent leading the SAP Basis and DBA Support function. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Application life cycle management for all Tate & Lyle's application landscape including roadmaps and Software Asset Management where needed.
  • Relationship management with key users
  • Managing the outsourced vendor by monitoring SLA/CSAT scores, escalations of incidents and adherence to ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Capacity, Availability, etc.)
  • Leading weekly prioritization meetings
  • Management of audit requirements and corrective actions assigned
  • On call support as required

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assesses IT operational results while looking for opportunities to improve and increase efficiency
  • Review and manage outsourced vendor support for metrics including preparing reports detailing on why targets were met or missed
  • Represent the voice of the customer for SAP Basis and DBA support and strive to improve customer satisfaction
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing tasks on time and to expectations
  • Support the business on all escalations arising through support teams and make sure that these issues are given appropriate attention until resolution
  • Ensure all assigned audit tasks are completed on time
  • Be available for calls and critical incidents that might arise in IT Operations area which are deemed critical to business integrity
  • Represent operations in the SAP Basis\DBA lifecycle management process with Strategy and Innovation teams.
  • Create and manage roadmaps and Software Asset Management for those not covered by EA

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.

EXPERIENCE

Experience will include reference to:

  • Assuming a project leadership role on small to medium size projects
  • Managing SAP outsourced vendor performance and driving improvements
  • Working understanding of SAP ECC on SQL and HANA & associated modules including HCM and reporting suite such as BW on HANA with WEBI & Lumira
  • Solid understanding of relational database theory including familiarity with MS SQL / SAP HANA database structures; solid understanding of programming concepts, including familiarity with SQL programming.
  • Experience in SAP ECC & HANA systems, including in-memory database technology, hardware, SAP administration, and Database Administration (DBA).
  • Experience with SAP BASIS Administration and Support pack upgrade, patching, System Installs, configures, and maintains all SAP BASIS components; performs SAP upgrades including support pack implementations
  • Ability to independently install SAP upgrades & patches and perform routine Basis system administration functions.
  • Working knowledge of Cloud Technologies - SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Analytics Cloud,
  • SAP Certification
  • ITIL V3 Foundations (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of IT Service Management tools (ServiceNow) (preferred)

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

  • 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years of experience in application support and/or outsourced vendor management, especially in a 24x7 operations and manufacturing an advantage.
  • Prior leadership experience managing global teams
  • Vendor performance management and relationship management with large organizations and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of IT Service Management processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English is necessary. Additional languages a plus

Location

Our IT team is spread globally - our two largest hubs are in Hoffman Estates, Chicago and Central London, but we have teams based across our plants and offices worldwide. This role can be based from our Chicago or Central London office but note that we are fully remote working until later this year, with only occasional travel into the respective offices for meetings, anticipated thereafter.
