We are searching for a masterful, agency Senior Medical Writer (emphasis on writer). Someone who can take detailed scientific evidence and create a compelling scientific narrative to capture attention and change behaviors. This individual must understand and be able to craft messages directed to multiple audiences including HCP, Payer, and Consumer/Patient.

Essential Functions
  • Develop various content to support disease state or product education (eg, PowerPoint slides, executive summaries, websites) for client projects.
  • Perform and analyze literature searches and scientific research regarding clinical data and key scientific information for content development projects to meet the client needs for relevant, up-to-date, and accurate content
  • Comprehend and utilize evidenced-based medical literature in a logical fashion, including the levels of evidence and the essential components of performance measures, clinical practice guidelines, and disease-state information
  • Collaborate with Designers on illustrations, animations, and creative applications of medical and scientific information
  • Participate in the ideation phase of the creative process of content development by providing concepts, ideas, and feedback
  • Support project management within the cross-functional team by effectively communicating and aligning with Account and Project Managers, and actively participating in project team meetings
  • As assigned, develop relationships and work closely with clients and key opinion leaders to develop and execute strategy and content to communicate complex scientific information to medical professionals
  • Perform quality checks on all content-related materials, including annotated deliverables, to ensure scientific accuracy and clarity
  • Interpret client needs into outline format for content development projects and prepare medical communication materials for client medical/legal/regulatory reviews
  • Collaborate with Medical Director, in partnership with Creative and Client Services, on content development, drawing upon customer insights, landscape intelligence, and relevant evidenced-based medical literature to provide informed and relevant strategic recommendations
  • Attend Advisory Board meetings, take notes, and prepare Executive Summaries/Reports and assists in highlight actionable insights
  • Train and mentor more junior medical writers under the guidance of the Medical Director
  • Maintain full compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements, as well as all applicable US laws and regulations

Other Additional Functions
  • Travel: this position requires moderate overnight/weekend travel (up to 10%) based upon client geography)
  • Work schedule/hours: this position requires occasional nonstandard work hours (up to 40% based upon account) in accordance with project needs, deadlines, deliverables, and urgent client requests
Education and Experience
  • Advanced degree (eg, PhD, PharmD, MPH) in a healthcare-related field, with 3-5 years minimum of experience in advertising/digital agency, with focus on pharma, healthcare, and/or wellness, preferred
  • Experience with medical, legal, and regulatory reviews preferred
  • 3-5 year minimum experience in medical education, scientific research, or clinical insights preferred
