Overview: All who are selected to participate in CFRs Blavatnik Internship Program and Robina Franklin Williams Internship Program receive training in the field of foreign policy and international affairs as well as skills training in writing, research, program planning, and much more.The Corporate Program, the Councils primary point of contact with the private sector, enlists the business communitys participation in and support of the Councils activities. Corporate members include nearly 200 U.S. and non-U.S. firms representing a wide range of business sectors, including financial services, law, manufacturing, consulting, technology, media, and others. Each year the program hosts over 70 events in New York and Washington.Through this internship, the Washington corporate affairs intern will develop an understanding of issues at the nexus of business and foreign policy. The intern will hone research skills by supporting the programming team on developing meeting ideas and supporting member relations on background research. The intern will also draft and edit memoranda and business communications.CFR internships are paid, require a 14 - 18 hour commitment, and are filled on a rolling basis.Fall semester internship opportunities are on a fully remote/virtual basis. The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):: Assist with preparing materials for corporate member and prospective member outreach meetings by monitoring company news and announcements, researching industries and sectors, and tracking executive movementsProvide administrative support to the team Qualifications: Undergraduate student with a concentration in international relations, political science, business, finance, or related fieldExperience in a corporate environment and/or prior administrative experience preferredFamiliarity with private sector preferredExcellent research, writing, and communication skillsDatabase management skills highly preferredProficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel About CFR: Founded in 1921, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is a leading nonprofit membership organization, research center, and publisher, with headquarters in New York, an office in Washington, DC, and programs nationwide.
