Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for the building's preventive maintenance, repair, and project work which supports the GE Healthcare Nuclear Medicine Business. The Maintenance Associate assists the department Maintenance Manager and Team Leader in managing the daily workloads interacting with all departments, including safety, Manufacturing and Engineering. The Maintenance Associate is expected to remain current on best practices, training, and technology standards.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to internal Quality Policies and Procedures as they pertain to the position to ensure that all products are safe, pure, effective and of the highest quality.
  • Responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of the facility and its support systems.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs in the following areas: plumbing, mechanical, electrical wiring, pneumatics, motors, pumps, HVAC equipment and vacuum systems.
  • Complete and support site installation and construction projects.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of the site's manufacturing equipment lines.
  • Required to be on-call for 7 consecutive days on a rotating basis, including the Sunday that falls within the on-call rotation.
  • Assist Maintenance and Engineering team members on projects and maintenance repairs.
  • Routinely operate, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on facility HVAC and temperature control systems (Automated Building Management System).
  • Install and service lighting and control devices throughout the facility.
  • Responsible for site compliance with radiation procedures, including individual dose management.
  • Support Cyclotron Operations in the installation and maintenance of cyclotron equipment and systems.
  • Maintain and service process water/D.I. water systems (controls, pumps, sensors, valves, and tanks).
  • Work closely with outside manufacturing and facility support contractors.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED and 5 years of work experience in a facilities/manufacturing maintenance role or technical school degree/certifications and 2 years of work experience in a facilities/manufacturing maintenance role.
  • Basic knowledge and troubleshooting of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and/or manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read schematic drawings.
  • Must understand oral and written technical English and be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and possess general computer knowledge.
  • Possess strong communication skills with ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and weekends, including 7 days on-call.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders. and work at heights, including operation of scissor lifts and powered industrial trucks.
  • Ability to routinely lift to 50 lbs. and experience using material handling equipment.
  • Ability to wear and work in protective clothing, including respiratory protection, confined space entry and clean room environments.
  • Must be willing to submit to a drug test, background investigation, including verification of previous employment, criminal history, and educational credentials.

Desired Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a maintenance function in a healthcare manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience performing work as an Occupational Radiation Worker.
  • Prior experience working with Automated Building Management Systems.
  • Working knowledge and troubleshooting of Programable Logic Control (PLC) manufacturing equipment.
