Description & Requirements

Our Chicago practice, (located in downtown Chicago or Oakbrook Terrace), is seeking an Audit Senior Manager or Director with experience in the public accounting industry. The BKD audit team provides assurance services that go beyond the compliance function. This team brings credibility to our client's financial picture, communicates information objectively and clearly, and provides insight to help clients improve their businesses.

What You Will Do:

• Assist in managing, developing, and coaching professional staff
• Carry out the detailed audit, review, and compilation engagement procedures
• Adequately identify audit risks and problems through review to ensure audit engagements are completed with defendable files and documentation
• Consistently identify engagement and operating opportunities for improvement and provide timely solutions and consultation
• Manage multiple concurrent engagements without disruption or loss of control and within scheduled deadlines
• Manage multiple client relationships, billings, and resource needs
• Build personal referral sources and clientele while actively participate in team marketing opportunities
• Lead audit committee meetings presentations
• Participate in speaking and article writing opportunities
• Complete CPE specific to assigned industries
• Travel to serve clients as necessary

A Successful Trusted Advisor Has:

• An aptitude to recruit and develop firm associates and team members
• Team and engagement management skills
• Innovative ideas to servicing clientele
• Communication skills to effectively relate to people of diverse backgrounds and experience levels both verbally and in writing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• An ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment to reach clear-set goals

Minimum Qualifications:

• 7 years or more (Senior Manager) or 9 years (Director) of audit experience in public accounting required
• CPA license
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting
• Experience managing multiple complex client engagements
