We are seeking an experienced employee benefitsattorney to join our Legal Department.
The individual selected will be responsible for providing guidance to senior leadership on the design, governance, implementation, and ongoing administration of Wells Fargo's health and welfare benefits plans, including compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and other applicable laws and regulations. The individual selected will also be responsible for developing and drafting plan documents, agreements and contracts; and working on various complex employee benefit plan projects and issues as may be needed. Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney; or 6+ years of experience as a practicing attorney and 2+ years of legal-related experience in one or a combination of the following areas: risk, compliance, contracts, government, regulatory, financial services, or technology
- Active State Bar membership

- Ability to analyze legal and regulatory issues in area of practice and provide effective advice to clients on complex legal matters
- Extensive experience conducting research and providing counsel and guidance regarding complex legal issues
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple matters
- Ability to work effectively in a complex environment with a high degree of collaboration
- Effective in building partnerships, functioning well with project teams, and working for the success of the team
Other Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated sound knowledge and experience advising management of publicly traded companies on employee benefits matters that may have potential legal, regulatory, and/or reputational risk.
- Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills, a demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues and other team members
- Extensive experience with ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code and corresponding regulations & guidance on employee benefit plan related requirements.
- Extensive experience with handling plan investment related matters involving qualified retirement plans.
Job Expectations
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
