Job Description

Danfoss, a global market leader in Climate and Energy solutions has an excellent opportunity for anApplication Technician Intern (Summer 2023) in the Application Development Centre (ADC) as part of the Danfoss Power Electronics and Drives Division located in Loves Park, IL.TheApplication Technician Intern will work closely with the ADC Manager and the application engineers to install, wire and test a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) lab in the ADC. They will also be tasked with integrating them into existing VFD's and developing code to operate them over fieldbus.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Install and wire the required PLC's (at least four types) with both analog and digital I/O as well as establish communications to various VFD's located withing the ADC
  • Test and trouble shoot all wiring
  • Create basic test programs for each PLC to demonstrate functionally with each VFD (time permitting)

  • Currently pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering
  • Candidates must be located within or near the Loves Park area
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Ability to effectively use standard electrical test equipment such as multimeters andoscilloscopes
  • Basic Understanding of PLC's and their programming
  • Time management - demonstrate focus and follow through.
  • Ability for team work, ready to learn and ask for help when needed
