Corporate Intern - Marketing

The Marketing Intern will work directly with members of the Corporate Marketing Team, focused primarily on various tasks to assist with ongoing content optimizations, social media listening and cross-channel recommendations.

The Marketing Team is looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative self-starter to provide creative ideas and assist with the development and implementation of marketing tactics that align with the greater strategy. We are looking for insightful contributions to help expand and maintain our marketing channels. Duties include: completing a competitive research and analysis of content and social strategies; actively listening and identifying opportunities for content creation and cross-channel promotion, managing and responding to Google reviews; and optimizing existing channels for search and experience.

This internship will help you acquire knowledge and experience of cross-channel marketing strategy implementation.

Description of Essential Duties
  • Content:
    • Research and ideate content topics, themes and angles for resource content production (articles, case studies, thought leadership pieces, social posts), leveraging data from existing campaigns and analytics tools.
    • Provide recommendations for content repurposing across relevant and emerging channels.
    • Source internal social network for content topics, project examples and assets we can use across corporate social channels.
  • Social Media:
    • Monitor, respond to and report on Google Reviews for all United Rentals branch locations.
    • Complete a competitive analysis of content and social channels, provide recommendations for expansion and optimization.
    • Help implement YouTube optimization strategy.
    • Review potential for different marketing plays across social media platforms.
  • Administrative:
    • Various administrative tasks/other assigned duties as needed.


Education
  • Current candidate for graduate degree in Marketing-related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferred in Marketing, Communication and/or Business.


Experience
  • Social/web communications platform experience.
  • Experience managing corporate social media/other communications channels (preferred).
  • Experience analyzing and organizing data.
  • Familiarity with marketing software and online applications (CRM tools, brand listening software, Google Analytics).
  • Familiarity with rental industry (preferred).


Additional Skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office required; Photoshop and HTML capabilities preferred.
  • Writing and proofreading skills (for web and social media) required.
  • Creative thinking and collaborative style, attention to detail and deadlines, and ability to stay organized managing multiple projects.
  • Results driven.
