Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Manager, Human Resources - Safety & Infrastructure Functions & Mechanical SBU to be based out of Harvey, IL. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources - Safety & Infrastructure, this person will be responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management within your designated client groups, delivering value-added services to management and employees that reflects Atkore's daily and strategic priorities. This position must be able to understand business issues and bring solutions that advance the greater interests of the business.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Labor Relations or a related field. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.
What you'll do:
- Serve as a business partner focusing on brokering solutions to business problems by collaborating with BU and functional leadership to get input on HR decisions and ensure delivery of high-quality HR processes.
- Manage Talent acquisition processes for relevant client groups including recruiting, screening and interviewing applicants to fill requisitions, creating and updating job descriptions as needed, training hiring managers on Atkore's Recruitment and Selection process, and driving compliance with that process.
- Become a SME for field HR operation processes, where you understand Atkore's 'standard work' mentality as it applies to daily HR activities. With this mentality you'll provide daily HR support for several business leaders and their teams across multiple sites.
- As needed, support the merger & acquisition process with particular focus on cultural integration.
- Focus on creating a positive employee relations environment and culture by understanding Atkore's culture of Engagement & Alignment, the Atkore Business System, and being a steward of Atkore's culture.
- Collaborate with other field HRBP's and lead the development and/or improvement of programs, policies, procedures and standards regarding acquiring, developing and retaining talent; analyze and compile people-related metrics and provides data-driven solutions.
What you'll bring:
- A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Labor Relations or a related field.
- At least 7 years of relevant Human Resources experience.
- Excellent computer skills with the ability to analyze information, create reports, as well as high quality work-product via Microsoft Office programs.
- The ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues, and understanding the level of complexity and urgency a particular situation calls for.
- A customer-oriented mindset, prompt attention to client group needs, and the ability to discern between client group needs and Atkore's priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Within 3 months, you'll:
- Complete your Atkore onboarding and immersion program, focusing on understanding Atkore's culture, the Atkore Business System, and building relationships across your client groups and the Atkore HR team.
- Understand how your job impacts Atkore and how your objectives align with Atkore's strategic priorities.
- Have a general understanding of the HRBP role at Atkore and be gradually delivering value to your client groups.
Within 6 months, you'll:
- Be leading the full-cycle recruitment process for the openings in the groups you support through a new hires' onboarding and immersion experience.
- Have established strong working relationships with the leadership team you support, built rapport with employees across your client group, and be seen as a valued peer across the S&I HR team.
- Be familiar with all daily and other responsibilities of an HRBP at Atkore and performing with minimal oversight.
Within 12 months, you'll:
- Have established a reputation for yourself as a reliable and indispensable member of the S&I HR team and top talent for Atkore.
- Be relied on by your client groups as a value thought partner for all people-related issues.
- Be sought-after across the broader HR team for your talent, work product, enthusiasm and reliability.
