The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of Midwest-centric experience providing process engineer consulting services, including design and implementation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Water balance studies and wastewater source characterizations;
  • Conceptual through detailed design of industrial water systems and remediation treatment systems;
  • Permit applications and regulatory compliance for National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and Industrial Pretreatment Program;
  • Managing projects in varying ranges of complexity and size including very large fly-wheel projects with subcontractors;
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff; and
  • Meet with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.
  • Training: Geosyntec will provide training in OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 30%
  • Overnight travel and client site visits should be expected up to 20%

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in chemical, civil, or environmental engineering or an aligned engineering discipline. (required)
  • Advanced degree in engineering. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E.). (required)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of consulting or industry experience related to the essential duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Understanding of chemical engineering concepts such as chemical process calculations and mass transfer. (required)
  • Familiarity with USEPA and state environmental regulations and understanding of industrial water discharge permits. (required)
  • Understanding of industrial water process engineering design through the detailed design phase and construction phase. (preferred)
  • Understanding of construction quality assurance and/or construction subcontracting. (preferred)
  • Ability to succeed in a consulting environment, managing multiple project assignments, meeting deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Proven project leadership skills. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
