Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Management on annual tax strategy and effectively implement the tax strategy to ensure that team members are clear on responsibilities and associated deadlines
  • Maintain established tax infrastructure and make recommendations on opportunities for improvement
  • Perform the initial, detailed review of team member deliverables and ensure the deliverables to Management are accurate, complete, and timely
  • Prepare complex federal and/or state tax returns with minimal supervision or errors
  • Log, delegate and ensure completion of Federal, state, and local notices
  • Monitor Federal, state, and local legislative developments and determine tax impact on system
  • Conduct tax research and draft position in a clear, articulate, and technical manner
  • Coordinate with Management to assemble the required information for Federal, state, and local tax audits
  • Take active role in implementing new software and processes.  Develop training tools and procedures.
  • Provide feedback to Management regarding team member development, performance, concerns, and morale

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in corporate tax or public accounting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of income tax accounting and compliance, including FIN 48.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar products. Knowledge of CCH Axcess, CCH FAM, OneStream, Vertex and Workday desired.
  • Exhibit critical thinking by evaluating circumstances in a methodical, strategic, and collaborative manner.
  • Work cooperatively with team and others across the organization to achieve shared objectives.
  • Capable of encouraging team to uphold high standards and maintain established processes and procedures.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.  Be able to actively listen, assign projects clearly, provide meaningful feedback and proactively share information in a precise manner.
  • Approach problem solving with a value-added, progressive, and innovative mindset.
  • Possess the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a changing environment and manage multiple projects with short deadlines.
  • Project a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and initiative
