Schedule Details/Additional Information:
This position will serve as construction project manager for Non-Acute projects. Primarily will serve Illinois but may need to travel to Wisconsin to support/lead projects.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Administration
    •     1)Participates in the bid review process; analyszees quotations and propsals
    •     2)Reviews submittals for accuracy and conformity to LGH specifications
    •     3)Insures that projects are built according to specifications
    •     4)Administers construction projects and maintains proejct documentation
    •     5)Assists in the preparation of initial budget estimates for approval
    •     6)Reviews bids and assists in the selection of appropriate contractors
    •     7)Prepares change orders for approval
    •     8)Reviews and process pay requests
    •     9)Maintains and updates project budget trackets sheets
  • Responsible for coordination and supervision of all aspects of construction process
    •     1)Coordinates contractor meetings on both a regular or as needed basis
    •     2)Inspects progress of contractor work as related to project schedule
    •     3)Fields questions and interfaces between contractors, engineers, contract architects and staff architect, and consultants
    •     4)Coordinates construction activities (such as shutdowns) that directly affect hospital operations
    •     5)Updates appropriate hospital personnel regarding construction activities.
  • Responsible for project planning
    •     1)Attends planning meetings with user groups, insuring that the design meets their needs and works within budget
    •     2)Interfaces with contract architects and staff architect, designers, engineers, and consultants to insure that construction documents conform both to the design intent and to established Advocate Health Care, BroMenn, Eureka, and Eastside Medical Office Building
  • Responsible for stewardship of Construction Documents and preparation of Safety Documents on Advocate’s behalf
    •     1)This responsibility includes the preparation and updating of life-safety ILSM project documents, coordination and review of fire evacuation, IDPH comments, Accrediting Organization comments. By law, and our internal procedures, all project final construction/permit documents must be archived and available access by Advocate. Position is responsible for the stewardship of these legal documents on Advocate’s behalf.

Education/Experience Required:

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture (or related major) 2 or more years prior experience in project management with majority of experience in hospital or health care field

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Basic skills in computer word processing, scheduling, and accounting spreadsheets. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical data. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Self-ambulation in order to visit job sites on campus. Ability to walk on stairs, ladders, climb scaffolding, and visit dusty environments is required. Traveling to job sites with-in Bloomington/Normal/Eureka areas, which requires access to vehicle.
