Senior Procurement Specialist

General Information:

As the Senior Procurement Sp for materials used in HVIT High Voltage Instrument Transformers equipment, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of materials essential for the production. Leveraging your knowledge of SAP or other MRP’s, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and other teams to optimize the supply chain, mitigate risks, and contribute to the overall success of our operations.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Material Planning and MRP:

  • Develop and implement material planning strategies, utilizing SAP MRP functionality to ensure timely availability of materials for high voltage equipment production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast material requirements and plan procurement activities accordingly.

2. Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Utilize SAP data for negotiating favorable terms and conditions to ensure competitive pricing and favorable contractual terms.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations.

3. Cost Management:

  • Analyze market trends and global economic factors within SAP MRP to anticipate cost fluctuations.
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives using SAP analytics without compromising quality or delivery timelines.

4. Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess potential risks in the supply chain.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, leveraging SAP data to ensure uninterrupted production.

5. Collaboration:

  • Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to understand material requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize procurement processes within the SAP system.

6. Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain rigorous quality control standards.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance measures within the SAP system to ensure compliance with industry standards.

7. Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Utilize SAP reporting to maintain accurate records and facilitate compliance audits.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Proven experience as a buyer in the high voltage equipment or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with SAP or other MRP functionality.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
