Our Mission

"United Cerebral Palsy Seguin of Greater Chicago believes in a world where children and adults with disabilities achieve their potential, advance their independence and act as full members of the community. We strive to make this world a reality--in Illinois and beyond, for people at every stage of life--by leveraging technology to provide innovative training and education programs, family support, employment and life-skills training, and residential services."

UCP Seguin is a not-for-profit agency that leads its peers in innovation. UCP Seguin provides services to adults and children with developmental disabilities and other special needs in metropolitan Chicago and beyond so that they may live, work and socialize as their neighbors do and become productive, valued members of society. Each member of UCP Seguin's family is valued as a unique individual having much to offer. UCP Seguin programs include community employment, homes, and life skills and enrichment classes to help adults live more independently in their communities. In addition, UCP Seguin promotes opportunities for inclusion and independence for children and adults with disabilities through assistive technology, information and training, and through access to specialists. For children, UCP Seguin offers foster care, adoption, and educational services regardless of severe emotional, behavioral, intellectual or medical challenges. UCP Seguin enriches lives in a way that ultimately benefits everyone in the community.

UCP Seguin is a pacesetter for leading-edge services and balances this with care and compassion in all that they do. Community employment for its participants is available through local employers and UCP Seguin's entrepreneurial ventures, Seguin Enterprises. Through partnerships, Seguin Enterprises creates businesses that employ adults with the severest disabilities and generates income that is reinvested into other UCP Seguin services. Participants can hone their skills in preparation for seeking employment in the community. UCP Seguin's innovative array of services also includes community living arrangements of 68 homes in 25 communities. This allows residents to live in a family-like setting while receiving individualized care.

UCP Seguin has an annual budget of approximately $36 million and provides services to more than 700 children and adults annually and employs over 650 people.
