The assistant superintendent - nashville will assist in supervising craft employees assigned to a particular construction discipline work area, i.e., electrical, piping, erection of structural steel, rebar, duct work, etc.
As assistant superintendent - nashville you will:
Supervise craft workers assigned to area of responsibility, provide liaison between field engineering and crafts to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications.
Assist in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, material quantities and equipment requirements.
Supervise work performance and productivity of crafts to ensure project rules, procedures, and safety requirements are maintained.
Monitor craft work and complete craft time cards to accurately reflect hours worked.
Advise senior level superintendents and/or project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties and quality control issues; assist in circumventing/resolving such problems as required.
Maintain liaison with owner’s representatives and other departments, for example, purchasing and engineering as required to support and maintain the construction schedule.
Other duties and responsibilities as required.
To be successful in this position, you will:
4-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
Minimum 5 years construction engineering or similar experience preferably in supervisory capacity.
Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements/jurisdiction, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, engineering drawings and other documents required.
Ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance essential.
