About Us and the Position:
SWD Inc., a Metal Finishing/Sorting Company in Addison, IL is looking for a new addition to the team! We currently have an opening in the Maintenance Department for a Production Maintenance Technician!
This position is full time and on 3rd shift (M-F 11pm-7am). We run most weekends as well, so having open availability is a plus!
Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:
SWD Inc. opened for business in March 1980 with three employees in a 9,000 sq. ft. facility built by Delawder Construction and began black oxiding, cleaning, and pickling operations with used equipment. In late 1980, the company began passivating stainless steel and in 1981 purchased Fastener Sorting Corporation. Today, a recognized leader in the Metal Finishing and Fastener Sorting industry, SWD Inc. has over 200 employees and runs three shifts per day in its 165,000 sq. ft. facility just west of Chicago in Addison, Illinois. www.swdinc.com

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:
- Ability to trouble shoot electronic problems using industrial testing equipment
- Basic knowledge of working with hand tools and mechanical skill
- A great attitude and team player
- Punctual and have good attendance
- Prefer a 2 year Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronics and Computer (ECT) or Electrical/ Electronic Automated Systems (A.A.S) or equivalent in work experience.
- Maintaining fastener sorting equipment
- Maintaining industrial plating and paint lines
- Performing basic industrial plant maintenance
- Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment
- Be able to troubleshoot problems with machines
- Remove and replace parts that need replacement (defective or worn parts)
- Take apart machines in order to get to problem area
- Start machines to ensure successful repair
- Be able to communicate with supervisors on status of projects (will have multiple projects to handle at any given time)
