What You'll Do
This position reports to the Director of Brand Strategy and works closely with Marketing, Creative, Legal, and the Wholesale Mortgage Operations Team. The ideal candidate is a versatile writer with experience and an interest in financial writing, including deep expertise with wholesale mortgages. We are looking for candidates who can hit the ground running in terms of technical and domain specific content and topics for the mortgage broker audience, in other words, we do not plan to educate candidates on the subject matter, rather the ideal candidate will have a strong foundation (including work experience as a wholesale broker) and can interview members of our wholesale team to learn more.

What You'll Do

- Develop, author, edit, and publish a variety of expert content for the professional mortgage broker audience, throughout the B2B (wholesale) line of business and loan process via multiple communication channels, including but not limited to emails, flyers, social, web, collateral, and thought leadership pieces.
- Create specialized collateral for top-producing mortgage brokers nationwide and recruiting pieces to gain additional mortgage brokers.
- Write data-driven articles and quick-turn news pieces that rank with Google.
- Collaborate with designers and marketing managers to generate and execute integrated marketing campaigns to grow business with professional mortgage brokers and agents.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in journalism, marketing, or communications; and 5 years or more of experience in wholesale mortgage industry, including but not limited to: loan types, interest rates, and government refinance programs.
- Advertising and mortgage writing experience required.
- Solid understanding of SEO concepts preferred.
- Strict attention to detail.
- Proven record of drive and initiative with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexible office hours and wfh flexibility - we only ask for 2 days/week in office.
- Building a brand together from the ground up!
- Yes we're a mortgage company but also yes, you can wear jeans and t-shirts to work.
- We're right by O'Hare - convenient if you need to escape quickly but yeah. Corporate park. (Remember, though, only 2 days a week). But there's this freakishly odd middle-of-nowhere square with artificial turf, a bandstand, a few pretty decent bars, and an indoor skydive facility.
