Job Summary: Work with the team on resolving assembly issues to make for an efficient quality process. Opportunities include troubleshooting manufacturing issues and facilitating continuous process improvements. Success in this role is defined by daily order execution, workforce flexibility, employee onboarding, productivity/efficiency, sequencing, process adherence, and training/development in production. This will be measured by ongoing improvements in driving quality (FPY), Safety (DART), and productivity/efficiency.
Bachelor's Degree and two years manufacturing experience or 8 years of related experience in operations;
5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting;
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook);
Be able to work in schedule driven environment;
Effective communication skills;
Ability to read blue prints;
Extensive knowledge of assembly process, inventory management system (MRP), coil winding and varnishing processes, sheet metal fabrication and powder coat paint processes safe work environment promotion,;
World class manufacturing (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S) experience preferred;
Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Supervise and coordinate activities of production workers.
Key member of a lean manufacturing environment driving continuous improvement activities relating to safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and inventory.
Interviewing, selecting, and coordinating orientation activities for all new employees.
Direct the department to ensure, safe, timely, and efficient completion of manufacturing schedules. Communicating daily activities between shifts.
Developing and maintaining a work force to meet capacity plans. Work with other departments to manage
Assuring all department personnel are adhering to company policies and procedures. Completes safety, productivity, and policy reports regularly.
Prioritizing work schedules and Managing shop floor staffing including attendance.
Keep line employees spirits up.
Resolve conflict on the shop floor.
Selects, coaches and develops staff. Sets clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. Manages performance-- recognizing achievement, providing feedback and administering progressive discipline when necessary.
Act as SAP Super User within functional area as assigned.
Level of Independence: Works with many others to improve efficiency and performance on the assembly lines. Must have good communication skills between the various departments and the people under them. Must be able to make decisions independently.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; stoop; crouch; bend and reach above shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, up to 10 feet away. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment including seasonal variation in temperatures and occasional exposure to manufacturing fumes or by-products. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing and shields for required tasks and closed toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.
