Job Specification:

E-commerce is both growing rapidly and redefining the way we shop and buy. In the online space, the Search Engine Results Page (SERP) is the new digital shelf and this role will play a critical role in optimizing our presence on that shelf.

This role will be a part of a World-Wide (WW) Supplies Search Center of Excellence (COE) Team that operates at the intersection of Digital Marketing, E-commerce and HP's PC, Printer and Cartridge categories. The successful candidate will play a strategic role in elevating our analytics and data science capabilities around the digital customer journey and both paid and organic Search execution.

Primary Function:

We are looking for energy, teamwork, technical expertise, a willingness to educate and desire to elevate the performance of the team as a whole through an exceptional ability to turn data into insights. The Marketing Data Analyst will develop and maintain dashboards, provide actionable insights based on data, and provide strategic support to the Global Search Strategy Team and the three regional Search Delivery Teams. This position serves as an expert in digital marketing data sources, analysis and modeling. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple data sources and identify process improvements in how the data is tracked and reported.

Core Responsibilities

Marketing Data Analytics

  • Develop and implement data solutions and statistical models to improve the speed and effectiveness of business decisions
  • Gather business requirements, design data structures, and develop code if needed to manage and report data using a diverse set of tools
  • Collect, cleanse, analyze and provide data for digital marketing efforts
  • Create and maintain data dashboards with visual software such as PowerBI using data from marketing platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Marketing Platform 360/Search Ads 360, Brightedge and other marketing data platforms.
  • Use data narratives and KPI's to identify insights, trends, and business opportunities and effectively present these to stakeholders
  • Interpret data and create ongoing and ad hoc report to interpret data and create ongoing and ad hoc reports
  • Identify data and process improvement opportunities by monitoring existing metrics, analyzing data and partnering with internal teams as needed
  • Develops data sets to enable self-service data analysis within the broader marketing organization
  • Plan and implement marketing attribution models within a multi-channel advertising environment using data from Google, Amazon, and other marketing automation software

Job Requirements:

Critical requirements

  • Bachelor's in data science, Statistics, Analytics, Marketing (or similar field), Master's degree preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with digital marketing data
  • Advanced Google Analytics Certification or equivalent knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of search engine advertising tools (Google, Bing, Yahoo) and bid management systems (Adwords, DoubleClick, Google Marketing Platform 360/Search Ads 360, Google Analytics, Tag Manager etc.)
  • Proficiency with Search Engine reporting tools (Google Marketing Platform 360, Google Analytics, SEMRush, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Amazon-related tools including Vendor Central, Merchant Words, or Downstream
  • Advanced Excel/Data base capabilities
  • Strong proficiency with Powerpoint
  • Self-directed with a passion to continue to learn and grow, embracing the continuous improvement approach (define-measure-analyze-improve-control)
  • Very strong teamwork orientation
  • Ability to work with global teams across multiple time zones
  • Fluency in English
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Willingness to work as part of an onsite team at one of the specified HP locations at least 2 days per week (after COVID restrictions are lifted)

Desired but not required knowledge or capabilities

  • Google Adwords and or Shopping Certification preferred
  • Amazon Marketing Services (Sponsored Products, Headline search, Product display)
  • Multi-lingual capability a big plus (Spanish, German, French, Japanese)
