What will I be doing?

As a Software Architect, you will be responsible for the product architecture, design, and implementation of our OCR technology. You will be responsible for the technical guidance and direction to Developers, QA, DevOps, Product & Project Management for on and offshore teams. You will carry out various tasks to ensure that application software is effectively and efficiently designed, produced, tested and maintainable. You will leverage and define industry and IRI best practice standards to provide development patterns leveraged across the team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establish and provide architectural direction, and act as technical oversight on complex development projects
  • Participate in the overall planning, execution, and success of the team by partnering with business partners, research, and other development teams in the organization
  • Contribute to the technology strategy/vision/roadmap and successful delivery of multiple programs
  • Provide leadership & mentoring to other team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of software development and architecture experience
  • Hands-on experience with OCR, text recognition, and parsing technologies such as Google ML Kit, Google Vision AI, iOS Vision Framework, Tesseract, etc
  • Expert level in core software architecture and technologies
  • Experience in web service development, preferably with Java
  • Experience working in big data environments and developing data-driven, analytical applications is preferred
  • Experience with mobile application development or mobile SDK development is preferred
  • Understanding of data in the CPG/Retail industry is preferred
  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server
  • Experience with the Agile Scrum or Kanban methodologies is preferred
  • Knowledge of different phases of SDLC
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Experience managing and working with global distributed teams
