Principal Purpose of Position:

  • Performs basic security operations duties including handling requests from Business and IT teams.
  • Monitors threat intelligence feeds and updates security metrics
  • Examines malware and malicious scripts
  • Administers logical access controls and performs recurring entitlement reviews
  • Assists with patch and vulnerability management
  • Updates standard operating procedures and as-built documentation
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change
  • Learns and aids in security system configuration and helps with software lifecycle management

Education and/or Training:

  • Currently enrolled in degree for computer science or related field.

    Relevant Work Experience:

  • Entry level position performing routine assignments. Develops competence in own area by performing structured and/or routine work. Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems; applies limited judgement and discretion. Depends on others for instruction, guidance and direction
  • General knowledge of Information Technology
  • Understanding of basic security concepts like encryption, separation of duties, and malware
  • Some familiarity with security best practices and industry standards (e.g. NIST, ISO, CIS, COBIT, OWAP, etc.)
  • Experience performing research and communicating findings technical and non-technical audience

    Planning/Organizing/Managerial Knowledge:

  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities
  • Individual contributor able to advance duties independently as well as collaboratively with a team

    PROBLEM SOLVING
