About the Position

The Technical Editor is responsible for the editing and maintenance of Policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Business Continuity Plans. Works directly with document owners to identify customized writing needs to produce a variety of technical publications. Must possess excellent dynamic writing skills and demonstrate mastery of grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Should be able to express ideas logically, clearly, concisely and provide guidance and encouragement to others in a tactful way.

  • Translates complicated technical information into clear; concise documents for various target audiences and distributes up-to-date documentation to appropriate clients
  • Supports the Employee Portal and aids employees who need assistance in accessing operations documents and ensuring they are relevant
  • Responsible for Operations Support Communications to Operations

Qualifications

The ideal Technical Editor candidate would have multiple years of successful experience writing highly rated technical proposals in a transit environment (preferred) with little support from other personnel, preferably with extensive understanding of transit operations.

  • Experience with documenting process improvements; establishing action plans and creating visually effective documents
  • Should have above average graphic design abilities
  • Previous experience in business or technical writing; ideally 5+ years of independent writing in public transportation field.
