Job Title: Supervisor(Chief Engineer) (C16)

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking multiple Supervisors (Chief Engineers) for a bid proposal in Chicago, IL. The Supervisor(Chief Engineer) will be responsible for daily operations of a single facility. Each facility may range from 300 to 1.5 million total gross square feet.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: General duties and responsibilities include, however are not limited to:

    • Responsible for daily operations of a single facility. Each Facility may range from 300 to 1.5 million total gross square feet.
    • Responsibilities include but are not limited to responsibility for fire and life safety, HVAC, building automation, electrical distribution, domestic water, plumbing, sewage and drainage, elevator and vertical transportation, locks and keycards, and architectural / structural systems, landscape and irrigation, kitchen equipment, and emergency power generators.
    • Responsible for the safe, economical operation of the plant and for all persons employed under his direction.
    • Responsible for orientation and training of Engineers and Trainees under his direction.
    • Responsible for carrying out the orders of the Facility Manager in the operation of the building.
    • Responsible for managing and executing approved major repairs, or major improvements, to be made in the equipment.

    Qualifications:

      • Minimum of 7 years' experience in Facilities Management. Experience must be current, at least 5 years' experience within the last 7 years.
      • Experience managing facilities of a minimum size of 1 million square feet.
      • Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems is desired.
      • Shall be licensed and certified or become licensed and certified as required by the State prior to performing work under this contract. This includes City of Chicago Stationary Engineers license, current Journeyman certification and Refrigeration Operator License if required by City Code.
      • Must possess excellent leadership, oral, written and customer service skills
