Job Description
Description

Children's National Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellow for a one-year advanced training fellowship. This clinical experience will enable the graduate to become an expert in the field and provide anesthetic care for patients of all ages with congenital heart disease.

The fellowship experience will consist of twelve one-month rotations at Children's National Hospital. The yearlong experience will allow the fellow to gain experience in all arenas where patients with congenital heart disease receive anesthesia, including the cardiac operating rooms, the cardiac catheterization lab, and the cardiac MRI. In addition, the program will provide rotations in Perfusion, Pediatric Echocardiography, and Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care. As the fellow progresses through the program, he/she will gradually take on greater responsibility and independence.

At the successful conclusion of the program, the fellow will be qualified to practice independently, and be poised to become a leader in the field of Congenital Cardiac Anesthesiology. Academic time will also be provided for research and scholarly endeavors.

The candidate will also have the opportunity to work as a pediatric anesthesiology attending per diem during the fellowship.

We are in the process of approval for ACGME accreditation effective July 2023.
