Job Description
Overview

VTG is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer familiar with design, implementation, and testing of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) systems and capable of performing all facets of engineering. The candidate must be a self-starter who thrives under limited supervision.

This position is located in Manassas, VA. This will be a hybrid position that requires to be in office 2-3 times a week.


What will you do?

  • Develop system requirements from source documentation and Statements of Work
  • Work with customer to understand and implement system requirements
  • Assist in the development/modifications of System Architectures based on changes/refresh of system components
  • Provide direction to the software developer on implementation of system requirements
  • Provide the design team with engineering assessments associated with the redesign of COTs hardware.
  • Understand Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) and application of test requirements to overall system performance
  • Develop and document Test strategies, processes and procedures.
  • Provide input to program leadership in resolution of design issues during all project phases
  • Conduct bench testing on hardware components at the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) level using test equipment and SIM/STIM to ensure PCB design is in accordance with the drawing/schematic
  • Interface with customer to execute the sell-off of components in a laboratory environment

Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 2+ years of System Engineering experience
  • Articulate, excellent presentation skills.
  • Successful completion of background check

Desired Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

  • 2+ years of Agile development experience
  • Experience in Mil-STD equipment design and test
  • Understanding of PCB design and test
  • Active SECRET clearance
