Position Overview:

The Maintenance Technicians (Millwright) is a safety sensitive position that is responsible for maintaining the mechanical equipment utilized at the facility to produce nitrogen-based fertilizer products.

The incumbent will work a 40-hour work week, with some overtime, call out, and limited night shift requirements. The company has a progressive training program achieved through on the job training, vendor training, and offsite technical seminars.

What you'll do - Example Activities:

  • Perform diagnostic and preventive maintenance tasks on bearings, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and turbines.
  • Demonstrate competency in diagnostic and trouble shooting skills.
  • Perform shaft alignment using dial indicators and/or laser alignment tools.
  • Complete assigned work in a safe and proficient manner.
  • Inspect, identify, change out, and repair pieces of equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, and turbines.
  • Perform visual inspections, diagnose equipment problems, and take necessary steps to perform repairs.
  • Read and understand repair manuals, order replacement parts, and apply manufacturer's equipment specifications.
  • Perform safe rigging and lifting tasks.
  • Work involves climbing ladders, stairs and use of safety harnesses. Additionally, working out of man lifts or man baskets is required.
  • Coordinate contractor millwright work during turnarounds and respective outages.

Internal Controls:

Understands and complies with established departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts. Identifies and brings to the attention of department management internal controls deficiencies

Preferred Skills

  • Academic degrees, certifications and licenses (i.e., associate degree, bachelor's degree, etc.)
  • Chemical or manufacturing plant technical knowledge and/or related work experience
