What You Will Do:

The User Liaison and Programmer consults with end users to understand their business processes and to become more efficient and effective utilizing the Banner ERP system. They will possess a strong functional knowledge in one of the areas of higher education - Student Services or Financial Aid operations utilizing Banner ERP and Administrative Systems. They provide creative technical input to help develop technical solutions to customer problems and provide quality end-user consultation and support.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:

    Supports functional areas (i.e. Finance, Student) and work with end users to understand their business processes and help end users become more efficient and effective utilizing the ERP system. Provides customer service and technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs.
  • Obtains requirements about business process flow, application intent, functions, features, data input, and output requirements, internal and external checks and controls, hardware and operating system environment, and interfaces with other systems. Works with client to develop functional conversion requirements and data mapping specifications. Prepares documents related to requirements and specifications for conversion, reporting, interfaces and custom applications.
  • Apply design and programming skills across all application tiers to develop and test application, changes, interfaces, reports and scripts. May convert designs and specifications into computer code and manage project efforts. May compile code into programs and corrects errors detected in compile process. Analyze code to find causes of errors and revises programs. Creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm program meets specifications. Works closely with project management and technical teams to support successful deployments.
  • Troubleshoots errors and issues encountered by end users and provides resolution to solve issue to client's satisfaction. Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs as required to meet industry best practice solutions.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Programming or related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience required.
