Northwestern Medicine is seeking a fellowship trained BE/BC general Gastroenterologist to join our team in Palos Heights, IL, located in the south suburbs of Chicago. Our board-certified physicians evaluate, diagnose and treat a wide range of digestive disorders using advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
This position is a hospital-based position that will primarily provide inpatient care and manage the care of acute or critically ill patients. This position will perform endoscopy generated from the emergency department and the inpatient consult service.An ideal candidate should be competent in basic upper and lower endoscopy, enteral access (PEG placement), and management of GI emergencies such as upper and lower GI bleeding, food impactions, and management of volvulus. The hospitalist will work in conjunction with 1-2 established interventional endoscopists and other NM subspecialists.
