Chapman's Finance Law Summer Internship is designed for rising juniors (class of 2025) who are interested in finance and the law and seek to gain valuable work experience before returning to school for senior year. Our interns will work for the Firm for eight weeks in the summer of 2024. Participants will receive extensive on-the-job training as well as classroom work with Chapman professionals and outside consultants.
The program begins with a four-week boot camp that will introduce finance law concepts, law firm economics and other practice management topics. During the second half of the program, participants will work on a team project to address a challenge faced by Firm management or a practice development challenge.
Our work environment is collaborative and inclusive. We have earned recognition for our diversity initiatives, which includes our mentoring activities. We work hard, but also make time to give back to our profession and our communities.
Following the successful completion of the summer internship, individuals who wish to pursue further employment with the Firm may be considered for participation in the Chapman Finance Law Development Program. Our two-year, salaried program gives individuals an opportunity to work on deal teams, side by side with Chapman attorneys and other professionals. This work involves collaborating with Chapman lawyers to conduct research, prepare documentation, and facilitate the closing of a wide range of transaction types. Chapman's clients include the largest U.S. and foreign financial institutions, private equity and hedge funds, investment banks, insurance and finance companies, and state and local governments.
Those who successfully complete our two-year program following graduation and who wish to pursue a law degree may be eligible for designation as a Chapman Law Fellow, with the potential for scholarships and other financial assistance. Program participants choosing not to attend law school may be offered other opportunities within Chapman or with Chapman clients.
Please submit a cover letter, resume and undergraduate transcript. All applicants will be considered; however, the hiring decision will be made based on qualifications for the position.
