Teach courses in Nursing clinical in the classroom, lab and hospital setting. Apply innovative teaching and learning pedagogies that engages a diverse student population.
Including but are not limited to:
* Medical-Surgical clinical rotation in a hospital setting assisting students with physical assessment, medication administration and performance of nursing skills
* Evaluating students on performance in the clinical setting
* Teach courses as assigned by the College
* Available to teach daytime, evening, and weekend classes, as needed
* Available for student conferences either before or after class, and by College email or special appointment if necessary
* Participate with producing documentation relating to program accreditation standards to achieve and maintain accreditation
* Work cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational excellence
* Assess student learning and participate in assessment of the Nursing Program
* Maintain and submit accurate attendance records, along with course related data
* Master's degree in Nursing
* Two years of recent hospital experience
* Current and unrestricted Illinois RN license
* Certification in CPR
* Work experience in an acute care setting in the last two years
* Current knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technology (e.g., word processing, e-mail, database) or proven ability to learn these skills
* Willingness to use educational technology (i.e. Canvas)
* Demonstrated commitment to professional growth, especially regarding contemporary expertise specific to assigned teaching content
* Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds and learning styles
* Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
