Job Description

We are looking for an Product Strategist to help drive strategy, awareness & adoption of the Grid product portfolio. You will lead a multi-discilpined group (Operationing Technology, Asset Technology and Behavioral Demand Response) of strategy professionals who are passionate about finding solutions to world's energy and water challenges. We are looking for a leader who can see how the strong growth of Distributed Energy Resources, transportation electrification and the need for resiliency are changing every aspect of our Energy and Water business.

As a SeniorrDirector of Grid Product Strategy, you will play a pivotal role as the technical/domain expert who owns the Grid product strategy, related solutions and competitive differences. Partnering closely with product management and product marketing teams, you will be responsible for developing and executing go-to-market activities that drive business performance, product adoption and customer satisfaction. You will also lead projects that range from short-term market investigations to long-term strategic analyses. The strategy projects focus on revenue analysis and forecasting, competitive analysis, customer research, and evaluation of areas such as adjacent market opportunities, new market entry, or new product planning.

You will need to have Operational Technology experience, good business acumen and understand how to stitch together Oracle Energy and Water broad portfolio of products to solve the most challenging energy and water business opportunities.

We're looking to hire someone who combines a passion for solving grid challenges, understands the technology required to manage the grid in real time and has the gravitas to rally internal and external shareholders around complex new business opportunities. This position will lead our Grid Outbound Product Management team who work on a mix of strategy and go-to-market functions. The right person will also be able to work more broadly across teams within Oracle to collaborate on continuing Oracle product adoption.

Qualifications:

  • You're a grid nerd at heart but outstanding at storytelling that propel usage, adoption, and market momentum
  • You are comfortable leading marketing analysis, reviewing historical financials, crunching data in spreadsheets, and conducting customer discovery sessions.
  • Business gravitas to help shepherd new complex software products through the initial launch, sales and implementation process
  • Deep knowledge of the grid/OT ecosystem including in-front-of and behind the meter solutions, vendors, and customers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, tailored for a wide variety of audiences
  • Present at industry conferences, panels, and customer and internal events
  • Fantastic analytical skills; ability to solve problems quickly, analyze data, establish frameworks, and generalize solutions.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or other technical degree
  • 10+ years of electric power systems experience
  • 8+ years of experience in a enterprise software product management/Go To Market role
  • 5+ years of experience in people management, including managing individual contributor product managers
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority
  • Willingness to travel 20- 25% of the time

  • Evangelize Oracle Energy and Water products as an industry expert to help solidify our grid leadership position
  • Manage a team of grid outbound Product Managers
  • Build business analytical skills among the Grid Outbound PM team
  • Contribute to and deeply influence the grid product strategy
  • Manage market analysis and pricing activities
  • Work closely with product management, product marketing, and sales to plan, coordinate, and execute go-to-market activities
  • Identify new initiatives and develop product plans that clearly articulate options with a business case for investment
  • Deeply learn about and understand the platform technologies used at Oracle Energy and Water
  • Actively manage projects cross-functionally to ensure successful outcomes with customers
  • Provide product thought leadership via technical papers and industry presentations

Hiring Range: from $159,300 to $338,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
