Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities: None

Summary: This position is accountable for the input and reconciliation of forms and data relating to the preparation of tax returns (1040s, 1041s, 709s, 1065s and 1120s).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting with the workflow for a large account load, requiring input and reconciliation of documents, data, & transactions related to the seasonal preparation of federal and state tax returns.
• Collect all information necessary to prepare the client's tax returns, identifying any missing or incomplete items.
• Responsible for efficient and accurate input of tax forms and tax data into Tax Preparation Software.
• Must possess a solid foundation of basic tax knowledge to ensure input is correct.
• Ability to independently review and reconcile detailed information to ensure input is correct and accurate.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure accuracy and maintain departmental workflow.
• Ability to leverage available resources to research tax issues.
• Responsible for maintaining an environment of fiduciary and regulatory compliance at all times.
• Maintain an environment of confidentiality at all times.
• When possible, assist in securing new business through referral.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to set and meet personal and project deadlines as needed.
• General knowledge of current tax related matters.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Preference will be given to candidates with proven knowledge and experience in individual & fiduciary taxation.
• Ideal candidate will have experience with tax preparation software (Ultra Tax and OneSource)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3 - 5+ years of individual, fiduciary, and small business tax experience.
