Join us as a Senior Systems Business Analyst in our Data Movement & Control Group!
The Senior Systems Business Analyst acts as a liaison between technical and business user groups in the execution of system conversions, upgrades and enhancements. The Senior Systems Business Analyst participates in all phases of the systems development life cycle - from project scoping, planning and requirements definition to issues resolution, testing, training and implementation.
Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from leading small to mid-size projects to assisting other project managers on larger more complex initiatives. The individual is responsible for defining and documenting business systems requirements and ensuring technology solutions enhance and support the business operations. The Systems Business Analyst leads effective meetings to gather, validate and document business requirements, as well as current and future state workflows. The individual analyzes data, researches issues, and contributes to design solutions for the project. In addition, the Senior Business Analyst may lead and/or participate in the user acceptance testing, training, and implementation of new systems and applications. The Senior Business Analyst is customer-focused, results-oriented and understands the impact of the project on the organization as a whole.
Additional Responsibilities include:
Business Analysis
Develop clear, concise project documentation, which requires proficiency in interviewing skills, workflow analysis, dataflow diagramming, screen design, etc.
Facilitate the definition of functional requirements by working with systems partners and business users
Translate and present project concepts into effective visual images which clarify design elements and issues for both business and technical audiences.
Translate system workflows into system configuration
Recognize patterns in complex information and identify key issues.
Identify gaps between business requirements and existing or proposed design solutions
Conduct business analysis to determine how changing business needs will affect the system or product; clearly articulate the business need and potential solutions with support of insightful analysis and documented evidence
Participate in development of test strategy, test plans and test cases
Lead and/or participate in test execution and document results
Project Execution
Assist the Project Manager in defining project scope
Assist in the preparation and tracking of project plans, including work breakdown structure, deliverables and milestones, and deadlines
Ensure project methodology is followed and proper documentation Is complete
Maintain issue log in Jira or other project management tool; drive issues to satisfactory resolution within project scope and schedule
Identify, mediate, resolve and eliminate miscommunications between business and technical project team members.
Produce user guides and conduct user training as needed
Project Portfolio Support
Assist Project Manager in development and tracking of portfolio of projects, including planning, resourcing, status tracking and reporting, vendor management, communication, etc.
Work with Systems partners and business user to assist in project prioritization and planning process
