General Summary of Position Flexible Unit-Based PRN Position on MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's General Medicine Unit - 4 Bles The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing competent professional nursing care using the nursing process. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Medstar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.
MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's 4 Bles is a 20-bed General Medicine Unit, offering continuous pulse oximetry. The Clinical Nurses on 4 Bles provide expert care for patients with complex, multisystem diagnoses. Their professional experience, compassion and excellent communication skills ensure that all patients receive world-class care. 4 Bles is notable for its incredible diversity, both among the staff and patient population, and the Clinical Nurses pride themselves on the culturally competent care that they provide. Representatives from 4 Bles also led the implementation of the Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) Program. After a pilot on two medical units, it was expanded throughout the Division of Nursing.
As a Clinical Nurse on 4 Bles, you would work closely with representatives from many teams to provide exceptional, coordinated, interdisciplinary care. Over 75% of the eligible Clinical Nurses on 4 Bles are certified, demonstrating their commitment to professional development. The Clinical Manager and Clinical Educator facilitate this ongoing professional development through support, coaching and mentoring.
