The Senior Client Service Representative will focus on the fund accounting, administration, and custody processes for assigned client relationships for the Alternative Investment Group. This covers both oversight over outsources activities as well as production of workstreams that are not outsourced. S/he supports to the Clients Service Supervisor /Team Leader / Manager in the day-to-day aspects of client relationships and to support high client satisfaction. The Client Service Rep, Senior operates under less direction than the Client Service Representative.

Key responsibilities include:

Client Service:

  • Meeting monthly / quarterly reporting deadlines (i.e., reporting packages, Net Asset Value (NAV), financial & regulatory reporting) either through monitoring /quality review of outsourced tasks or the efficient and accurate execution of tasks performed directly.

  • Performing asset supervision tasks and proactively monitoring the status of those tasks and following up to obtain required client documentation / maintain logs of outstanding information.

  • Fielding and responding timely to all client inquiries/pro-actively anticipate client's needs. Prepare files / deliverables needed for internal management.

  • Provide filtering and escalation for client requests.

  • Build overall credibility and foster trust with clients.

Fund accounting:

  • Knowledge of and practical experience with general ledger systems including partnership accounting.

  • Knowledge of alternative funds (i.e., real estate, private equity, debt funds) structures.

  • Knowledge is required of consolidations, group structures and consolidation systems.

  • Relevant IFRS and local GAAP knowledge.

  • Experienced in preparation of consolidated IFRS financial statements.

  • Knowledge of alternative fund specific investor reporting standards (i.e., INREV, ILPA).

Industry Knowledge:

  • Maintain an in-depth working knowledge in one of the core functions of service delivery - i.e., fund accounting or custody.

Custody:

  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory framework under which depositary /custody duties are performed - i.e., local regulations and AIFMd.

  • Knowledge of asset supervision requirements, for both assets held in custody and assets held away, and the application to investment types held by alternative funds.

  • Knowledge of the broader depositary requirements for alternative funds (i.e., oversight duties).

  • Remain knowledgeable of changing industry initiatives and the regulatory environment.

Risk and Control:

  • Ensure adherence to all established standard procedures, best practices and process controls.

  • Review and discuss issues requiring escalation with client service team.

  • Review of core Fund Services and Custody service delivery provided by internal departments and third-party providers.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS or Equivalent.

  • 2+ years of professional experience.

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.

  • Aptitude for numbers, accuracy and organization.

  • Ability to work accurately and quickly under pressure.

  • Creative problem-solving skills including the ability to identify, recommend and implement solutions.

  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.

  • Language skills commensurate with office location and client relationships supported.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment that requires collaboration with multiple teams.
