Coding Auditor and Educator

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Coding Auditor and Educator
  • Location: Warrenville, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full-time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

What you will do:

  • Conduct coding and billing training to physicians, non-physician practitioners, coders, and other interested personnel, including developing the curriculum and training materials, and assessing competency.
  • Perform audits with appropriate feedback
  • Monitor coding and billing regulations to assure compliance with governmental and payer regulations
  • Act as a resource to provider and staff regarding coding issues.

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, verbal/written communication, organizational and team development skills are necessary.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Proficient in PC skills including Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word.
    • Ability to interact with all levels of health care team professionally.
    • Ability to write correspondence proficiently and to communicate in a professional manner and effectively handles difficult situations and/or individuals objectively.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of two years of previous E/M audit experience
    • Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology
    • Current Procedural Terminology coding (CPT), ICD-10 coding and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS)
  • Certification:
    • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coded (CPC) certification
    • A valid driver's license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.
