Position Highlights:
Location: Elmhurst Hospital
Full Time/Part Time: Per Diem
Hours: PRN on-call and weekend rotation required
What you will need:
Successful completion of an EEG degree or certificate allied health program
Minimum one year of previous EEG experience or Minimum of two years EEG experience in an acute hospital setting
Registration by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists
Current CPR certification
What you will do:
Under general supervision and according to established procedures, operates electroencephalograph (EEG) machine in order to measure brain wave characteristics for use by physicians in diagnosing brain disorders. In doing so, reviews patients' medical charts, explains procedures to patients and/or families in order to allay anxieties and elicit cooperation, positions patients for testing and operates equipment. Assists in performing EMG tests as directed. Performs newborn Hearing Screenings procedures, in accordance with the State of Illinois guidelines.
