Position Details:

  • Sell and propose products, systems, and services requiring technical knowledge of engineering
  • Call on management representatives to convince them of the desirability and practicality of products and services offered
  • Talk and work with customers and production engineering to determine how products or services could be designed or modified to best suit customers' needs
  • Demonstrate to potential customers how and why products and services would suit customer needs better than competitors' products
  • Develop and prepare financial and operational estimates
  • Propose changes in equipment or use of materials resulting in cost reduction or operational improvement
  • Report on market changes affecting company products and services
  • May provide technical service for equipment and/or technical training for client employees
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all Ace product features, functions, and value propositions
  • Develop and grow long-term relationships with customers
  • Development and delivery of technical presentations
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFI/RFP/RFQ's
  • Provide pre and post sales technical assistance and product education
  • Field visits with customers. Be able to engage the entire organization: engineering, purchasing, sales, marketing, and management in creating value for customers
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements
  • Provide voice of the customer data during the design of custom-made products
  • Research and understand our customer markets
  • Review and approve quotes and orders

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • 3 years experience in technical sales
  • Strong skills using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel required
  • Some travel (both domestic and international) may be required
  • Immigration sponsorship not offered for this role

Physical Demands:

  • Normal working conditions absent extreme factors
  • Must be able to see well enough to read reports, send emails, etc.
  • Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with customers and vendors
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs periodically
  • Must be willing and able to travel long distances via car or airplane
  • Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated with a proven track record in technical sales
  • Ability to identify and resolve customer and vendor problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers, customers and vendors both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Strong desire to learn and be a problem solver, striving to determine the root cause of issues. Formal training in LEAN, or Six Sigma a plus.
  • Friendly and enthusiastic personality
  • Experience reading and interpreting CAD drawings
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical designs and assemblies
