We are looking for a Coater Machine operator to work out of our PolyMask Plant located in Aurora.


This position is for 12 hrs shift 5pm-5am, 48-60 hrs a week.


Summary:The primary role of a Coater Operator is setting-up and operating a slitting machine to coat rolls of Protective Film to documented specifications and/or winding or rewinding as necessary to ensure optimum safety, quality and production while minimizing cost, energy, and waste in our team-based environment.


NOTE: Training and Detailed instructions for the task of Coating Operation are provided in Work Instruction WP4 - Coater Setup, Operation, and Shut-down.


Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Support Environmental Health & Safety for the facility, following all current policies and procedures and making an effort to improve the Environmental Health and Safety performance of our facility.

  • Set-up and operate Adhesive Coating machines to efficiency, quality and order specifications.

  • Review coating schedule and ensure accurate footage is run for all products

  • Make quality checks.

  • Maintain visual workplace standards.

  • Complete required paperwork including visual check sheets and run condition sheets.

  • Monitors and maintains quality by looking for defects in the products.

  • Review shift operations, problems, status, orders, special instructions, etc. with oncoming operator

  • Safely operate Jib hoists and pallet jacks

  • Ability to read a tape measure.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality.

  • Prepare for changeovers in advance to minimize downtime

  • Meets established production goals.

  • Enters production data in SAP.

  • Familiarity with Manufacturing or Quality environment preferred.

  • Working Conditions: Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 50 pounds and endure elevated temperature level

  • Actively participate in all Continuous Improvement, Safety and Quality initiatives

  • Performs housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe work environment

  • Understands and supports PolyMask Quality Policy.

  • Understands PolyMask Quality Objectives, and aids in the achievement of them.

  • Contributes to the continual improvement of PolyMask's Quality Management System by following current written policies, procedures, and work instructions, etc., while providing constructive feedback, input, and suggestions.

  • Additional auxiliary equipment: Possess or learn the ability to operate Forklift, Cranes, Floor Jacks, Saws, Knives (other hand tools)

  • Prior experience in slitting operation is preferred but not required

  • Must have the ability to work in a team-based environment, assist others when needed and lead by example while focusing on safety, quality and productivity.

  • Must believe in promoting a positive culture within the facility focused on pride, ownership and accountability

  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus, but not required.

  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to quantify results, identify new opportunities, adapt to change and interface with all levels of management

  • Basic computer skills ( SAP knowledge is a plus)
