Job Description
Summary:

The purpose of this position is to assist the maintenance team in combining and maintaining the mechanical features of equipment with electrical and robotic (automation) technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Development of PLC, Robot and HMI Programs offline using custom electrical design and mechanical drawings for reference.
  • Work in collaboration with project managers, project leads, build leads, mechanical designers, machine tool builders, and electricians to successfully complete projects on time and on budget.
  • Assist maintenance team in combining mechanical and electrical components on existing and new equipment used in the manufacturing process.
  • Program equipment to meet needed specifications for required outcomes.>
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues on equipment as needed.
  • Fabricate electrical panels as needed to meet required specifications.
  • Assist in the process of design, fabrication, and implementation of various electrical, robotic, and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Assist maintenance in mechanical repairs and trouble calls as needed.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist maintenance team in design, fabrication, testing, and evaluation of manufacturing processes and project completion to ensure quality product completion.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Able to read standard electrical symbols and schematics.
  • Understanding of electrical components, operation, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Above average computer skills.
  • Able to do basic mechanical repairs, including bearings, pneumatics, minor hydraulics.
  • Preferred, not required, UNIX configuration, shell scripting.
  • Preferred, not required, Python or other related programming language.
Credentials and Experience:
  • Post-secondary education or training in Electronics, PIC, robotics, and or mechatronics.
  • 1-3 years' experience in similar trade.
Special Requirement:
  • Scheduled working hours are based on seasonality of Bayer Built Woodworks, Inc.
