Overview

TRC is seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer for our growing Civil Engineering Services team in Austin, Texas. The main function will consist of assisting in the design of gravity sewers, force mains, water mains, wastewater lift stations, water booster stations, and drainage facilities. Other tasks may include supporting engineering projects, document development and design, and coordinating related tasks.


Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers in the production of project plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
  • Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers with construction management tasks such as material submittal reviews and coordination with Contractors.
  • Be involved in all project aspects including design/study development and site/field visits during design and construction.
  • Conduct site visits, surveys, and inspections, and assist with data collection, compilation, and assessment for infrastructure projects.
  • Decipher civil site backgrounds, work with nested External Reference Files (Xrefs), adhere to company drafting standards, and create design details from sketches and manufacturers datasheets.
  • Efficiently produce quality outputs while meeting budget and schedules on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, clients, and public agencies.
  • Other responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline and 0-3 years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, Word and Excel are required, and PDF editors (Bluebeam preferred).
  • Ability to obtain Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience using computer assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents (examples include software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be flexible, well organized, accountable, and dependable.
  • Physically able to perform work in the field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification.
