Department Overview:

As the top of mind, reliable resources to the neuromuscular disease community, the Healthcare Services department plays a critical role in providing support, opportunities and resources to promote access to care and empower each individual. The Healthcare Services department is comprised of the Care Center Network, Family & Clinical Support, Medical Education Operations, and Resource Center teams.

Position Description:

The Manager, Family & Clinical Support will report to the territory Director, Family & Clinical Support. The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the day to day activity of the Specialists on the Family & Clinical Support Team, who support families and caregivers navigate living with neuromuscular disease, including supporting families as they engage with MDA Care Centers and associated providers for clinical care, as well as though providing support through engagement opportunities. This individual is also instrumental in the recruitment and stewardship program management of new client registration. The Family & Clinical Support Manager will be engaged in clinical settings but will not at any time provide direct patient care or dispense medical advice.

What you'll do:

  • Train and support the development of a team of Specialists including but not limited to managing performance matters and reviews, PTO and leave requests, etc.
  • Implementing strategy to engage with and support all 300,000+ people living in the US with neuromuscular disease and their caregivers within territory.
  • Ensure the development of strong relationships between MDA, families and caregivers, through proactive outreach, responsive follow up, and the execution of key MDA programs and engagements.
  • Collaborate with the appropriate team leads to collate insights and learnings to be shared in a coordinated way across the organization about the needs, interests, support gaps and experiences of the family and caregiver community that MDA serves.
  • Work closely with Co- Managers to ensure a coordinated approach to territory management.
  • Work closely with Family & Clinical Support territory leadership to ensure coordination across departments.
  • Ensure timely, professional and high-quality execution of duties and programs.
  • Oversee the team's execution of family and community engagement and outreach activities and campaigns to support MDA initiatives across the organization.
  • Gather and share substantive feedback from executed activities and engagements through the proper process flow to the appropriate MDA team lead.
  • Ensure internal databases are maintained with accuracy including tracking work product on appropriate and designated platforms.
  • Contribute to and manage continuous quality improvement activities and exercises.
  • Responsible to provide support or coverage during Specialist vacancies & PTO/time off.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range:

This position's salary range is $60,000 - $65,000. Final offer amounts and levels are determined by multiple factors, including your experience, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Location:

Remote work with up to 30% overnight travel and additional local travel required. Local travel varies by location. (Current vacancies- northeast, eastern, central and western regions of US)

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in health-related field strongly preferred.
  • Advanced degree and/or professional credential in a health care or related field is a plus.
  • 2+ years of leadership/management experience leading project teams and/or programs required.
  • Ability to manage multiple direct reports in different geographic locations.
  • Working understanding of how healthcare institutions operate.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a matrix reporting structure.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple workstreams and manage complex implementation and execution schedules.
  • Collaborative mindset.
  • High level of discretion and demonstrated ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
  • Ability to travel as necessary. Overnight travel required. Travel percentage varies based on territory. Reliable transportation required and proof of valid Driver's license.
  • Advanced level Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Access, SharePoint, design programs, and customer relationship management software.
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of Salesforce.
  • Comfortable interacting with families from diverse disability, cultural and economic backgrounds.
