Sr. Business Analyst - JD Edwards ERP Manufacturing

Who we are looking for:

We're looking for an experienced JD Edwards ERP Manufacturing expert to help us transform our North American operations to a single and common JD Edwards-enabled solution. The Business Analyst will be the primary contact person for everything related to the current JD Edwards ERP system, including becoming familiar with the business processes and requirements that drive how the ERP system is implemented, deployed, and updated. Ultimately, this position is responsible for Atkore's ongoing Manufacturing and RF Smart Scanning functionality, service, and support. This person will report to the Manager of IT Manufacturing and Procurement and will work closely with all ERP user groups across Atkore including Sales, Finance, Customer Service, Transportation, Procurement, Order Management, Warehousing and Distribution.

The primary responsibility of this position will be to spend 24-36 months deploying JD Edwards across our North American facilities. As a result, we expect this position will require 25-30% travel for the first 2 years, then 10-15% travel per year afterward.

What you'll do:

  • ERP Digital Roadmap Support:
    • Act as IT leader responsible for the successful design, build, test, and implementation of Atkore's North American Manufacturing solution.
    • Support the incremental and phased implementation of the Manufacturing solution across multiple facilities.
    • Become Atkore's solution expert for future digital roadmap efforts.
  • ERP Support and Implementation:
    • Initiate and lead ERP-related projects and enhancements for North American operations.
    • Thoroughly understand company business practices and procedures in order to design, develop and maintain automated workflow processes.
    • Work with ERP systems users and management across the organization to determine appropriate system configuration and setup.
    • Create documentation and procedural guidelines for ERP systems users.
  • ERP Maintenance & Ongoing Development:
    • Provide day to day support to ERP users.
    • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve ERP system issues reported by end users.
    • Design, develop and maintain reports used by ERP systems users.
    • Understand ERP security subsystem in order to assign appropriate system access to users at different levels throughout the organization and its partners.
    • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of ERP applications and computer hardware operating systems.
    • Conduct in-depth tests for modified and new systems or applications.
    • Produce user documentation for applications developed.
  • Customer Partnership and Support:
    • Participate in internal Lean and Kaizen events in customer areas.
    • Support customer initiatives and operational activities.
    • Attend customer KPI reviews and meetings as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related/relevant field.
  • Strong business knowledge of the J.D. Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 ("JDE ERP") package with specific focus on Manufacturing, RF Smart(Data Collection), and all Master Data related to it.
  • 5 to 7 years' experience implementing enterprise IT applications, defining and mapping business processes, and understanding integration between various applications. It's also a plus if you have experience with distributed application development in a client/server environment.
  • A proven record of strong internal customer service, on-time and on-budget completion of projects and enhancements, and continuous improvement of the capabilities within your function.
  • Large scale, multi-site, program implementation experience and PMP certification (we aren't requiring these, but we do prefer them).
  • A formal structured problem-solving certification such as Six Sigma (this would be a plus).
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of business operations, along with good communication and documentation skills, and experience working with all levels of staff to define business and technical requirements.
  • An ability to get support and buy-in for recommendations and decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to deliver commitments while managing multiple priorities. This will require familiarity with the development life cycle and its implementation.

Within 3 months, you'll:

  • Complete your new hire "Immersion" so that you are ready to rock in your new role.
  • Become acquainted and comfortable with the JDE BA team.
  • Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
  • Be well-versed in Atkore's procurement processes as well as business and IT solutions.
  • Be able to provide limited customer support for production and continuous improvement activities.
  • Start to participate with the ERP deployment teams focused on implementing JD Edwards across our North American Operations

Within 6-months, you'll:

  • Have started to become a subject matter expert for Atkore-specific business processes and IT solutions.
  • Be a competent and comfortable in problem-solving and providing full production support with limited assistance.
  • Be able to make recommendations regarding business processes and IT solutions.
  • Be deploying JD Edwards, spending time on-location at the implementation sites, engaging users directly

Within 12-months, you'll:

  • Completely own Atkore's Manufacturing solution portfolio.
  • Autonomously make decisions regarding the JDE solution and be seen as a go-to person for problem solving and support
  • Be able to strategically identify needed improvements, changes, and modifications and turn those ideas into action.
  • Take the companies goals and ensure that all solution requirements and requests put forward are in alignment with those goals.
